Kambri has really starting to love her baby. Every night she has to sleep with her baby and mimi (aka: Minnie). Kambri will let her baby talk on the phone; she'll put her to sleep, give her rides on her bike, share her own food with her and reads to her. She is a very good mom to her little baby.
Even though Kambri is only 20 months she acts like she is two. If she does not get her way she has a total melt down. It's starting to get hard to go to the store, because she just screams the whole time. I have just started letting her stand up the in the cart or eat chocolate if it keeps her from screaming.
Kambri has started to get very independent. She wants to drink out of a cup, pour her milk, get dressed and undressed, and straps herself into her car seat. I don't think I'm ready for her to start doing things without me.
In the mornings I try to either get ready before Kambri gets up, or get ready when she is in the tub. If she is in the tub while I get ready and I pull out my makeup she has to get out so she can get makeup on too. She really likes to do everything that I am doing.
I have had Jordi for 5 years and it takes him a really long time to like someone other than me.
He is just starting to warm up to Kambri. It's a good thing too, because she loves to be next to Jordi and take him for walks. Her most favorite thing to do is give Jordi treats. She thinks he needs five a day.
Now that our entry to our kitchen is too big for a gate Kambri has started to get into everything. She will pull up a chair to the counter if she wants something, open the pantry when she thinks she needs a nack (aka: Snack) and loves to play in the sink. I have learned that you do what you have to do to get things done, so I let her help me rinse the dishes and after we were done there was water all over the floor.
We have two little boys, 7 and 6, that live next to us and always come ask if Kambri can come out and play. I don't think they understand that she is just little and can't do the things they do. When we went out the other day the little boy told me they were getting all their friends together for a friends club. Kambri loves to go outside and like to act like she is playing with the other kids without really playing with them.
Kambri doesn't really sit and watch movies, but she always wants to watch heigh-oh heigh-oh (Snow White) and Bell (Tinkerbell). I don't think Kambri really loves Snow White, but she does love the Heigh-Ho song.
Kambri has a few new favorite words these days. First is dop, (stop) if we are doing something she doesn't want to do she grabs our hands and shakes her finger at us and tells up to dop. Second is dat, (what's that or who's that) she says it about everything. Even if she knows what it is she always asks dat. It's very cute and only somewhat annoying.
Kambri loves to be outside, and we try to get out every day. Wednesdays we have a ward play group that we attend and Thursdays we go to Seven Peaks. I'm not sure how big of a fan she is of Seven Peaks. Yesterday she just sat in the water for 20 minutes and stared off. I'm sure if she has other kids to play with she would love it.
The other day I was looking at Kambri's baby pictures and I couldn't believe how fast she has grown up. She is starting to pick up words we say and comprehend what we say. Every day she surprises me with a new word. It's crazy how much Kambri has learned and grown in her first few years.
